Cane Creek AD-10 / AD-12 o-ring sizes

The AD-10 and AD-12 uses standard size o-rings, but Cane Creek doesn't tell you what those sizes are, and the $35 rebuild kit is pretty expensive.

These are the Cane Creek part numbers and the standard o-ring size they correspond to:

AD0106 - #011
AD0108 - #029
AD0110 - #123
AD0111 - #010
AD0125 - #004
AD0301 - #222 quad-ring
AD0302 - #027

The grease used by Cane Creek is Slick Honey, also known as Slickoleum.

You can see where each o-ring goes by consulting the part diagram here: http://oldbikeshop.blogspot.com/2017/05/cane-creek-ad-10-ad-12-manual.html

The Cane Creek rebuild kit does give you a bullet tool. During assembly it's place on the end of the shaft, and allows the seals to up and onto the shaft. It's very helpful when reassembling the shock. You can either buy the Cane Creek kit once to get the tool, or you can buy the Risse Racing 1.5" bullet tool for $10:

    1. O-rings are available online from Amazon or McMaster-Carr, and the wiper is available online from MFP Seals. Locally, everything should be available at your local hydraulic supply house.
