As I recall, pulling off a catalog at that time would have meant jumping through some logistical hoops. Also, DH gave us a hell of a deal on the publishing of that book.

Background of the 1995 Schwinn catalog as told by former Schwinn employee Matt Karaus:
Internally this was known as the "magalog", published by Challenge Publications, AKA Dave House. At the time that was being pulled together the Boulder office was still "start up" mode in many ways.
