Schwinn Sweetspot cable routing

The cable routing on the 2nd generation Sweetspots with the large hollow pivots is bad since it puts a lot of extra bends in the cables and exposes them to whatever the front tire kicks up. The standard cable routing makes it hard to set up the front derailleur and makes the rear brake feels like absolute rubbish; very mushing and soft. What I do is drill out the cable stops on the frame and use them as guides to run full length housing, run them off to the side of the pivot instead of below it, and zip tie the housing to the top of the rear triangle. This removes several big bends making the brake feel a lot better and the bike look a lot better. For the modification I used a Dremel flex shaft with a burr on the end. If you're willing to put a drill to your frame, this is a great modification. If you’d rather not drill your frame you can use cable guides which bolt into the existing cable stops: http://jagwire.com/products/v/Cable_Grips
